The outbound journey is ~40 miles and we will probably stop for lunch on the outskirts of York before heading into the city and onto St Marys Abbey. After a spot of tourism we will head back to Ilkley via Tadcaster, the inbound journey is ~43 miles. Hopefully we will be back before 5:00pm.
The average speed will be about 14 mph, the route is mainly flat and we should be able to maintain a higher speed than normal.

Fountains Abbey Day Out
Starting from the Old Bridge at Ilkley at 9:30am
The ride will follow this route ( map link here)
The outbound journey is approximately 25 miles and we will stop for lunch at one of the cafes at Fountains Abbey, after lunch we will ride through the deer park before heading back to Ilkley via Summerbridge, the return trip is about 30 miles.
The average speed will be about 12.5 mph.
