Premier road cycling sportive challenge through the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, offering a range of challenges on the same roads used by the Tour de France, Tour de Yorkshire, and the 2019 Professional World Championships.
The White Rose Classic is a premier road cycling sportive in the North. Run since 2012 by the Ilkley Cycling Club, this sell-out, 1000 rider event aims to provide a challenging day out through some of the most spectacular Yorkshire Dales scenery – taking in some of its classic (read toughest) climbs! With three routes to choose from, the event provides for differing levels of ability and experience. Whether you are a whippet-like club rider looking for a gold standard time, or want a more leisurely, but challenging, day out in the saddle, the White Rose Classic has something for you.
The White Rose Classic is organised and run by volunteers from Ilkley Cycling Club in conjunction with British Cycling. Profit from your entry fee goes towards promoting local grass-roots cycling initiatives, including a very active youth-development programme, as well as encouraging more men and women to ride bikes as per our club motto, From Recreation to Racing.
Save the Date
The 2017 event will be held on the last Sunday of June, the 25th. So mark your calendar, tell your mates and significant others, or just go ahead and register now, choosing a route and if you want to ride in the woman-only peloton.
Thinking about joining? Take a look at the routes – they are mostly quite roads and include some of the best-known Yorkshire climbs. Looking for a little more detail? Read our FAQ and if you love reading the fine print, well enjoy that too!
