ILKLEY

We are  proud to announce an exciting new project to get more people cycling, more often and for everyday trips – to work, to the rail station, or just to pop to the shops  .The Ilkley go:cycling project will provide:*

  • A fleet of hybrid pool bikes – for taster sessions and short term loans!
  • Taster sessions – try out cycling on our introductory club rides
  • Short term loans – take a bike home, kitted out with a lock, lights and panniers and try it out for your everyday trips
  • Adult cycle training – attend a course to get confident cycling on the roads
  • Maintenance classes at JD Cycles – learn the skills to be your own road-side assistance
  • Dedicated website – for advice on route choice, where to park your bike, how to fix a puncture and how to secure your bike at your final destination

Your club needs you! We are looking for people to help set up and run the project.  There are lots of different types of roles to fill so if you have some time, skills or interest and would like to get involved, please contact Leanne Farrow (leanne.farrow@hotmail.com).

Want to become a Cycle Training Instructor? The project will also cover the cost of training four ICC volunteers to become fully qualified Cycle Training Instructors to deliver the adult cycle training sessions for the club.  For more information, click here.

*The project will be funded by go:cycling – a new initiative in West Yorkshire funded by the Department for Transport’s Local Sustainable Transport Fund – following a successful bid made by ICC.
